Funky Geckos

Dreams can come true.......................

Our Breeders 2009:

                                                  Persia:

Persia is a top quality Mack Snow Enigma. It took a lot of time and patience to find the perfect, almost pure white female we wanted for our breeding projects, before we finally unearthed this gem. A big bonus is that she is also 100% het Tremper Albino, poss Eclipse (Raptor). Having Onyx as her partner, this lady is already producing some superb Mack Enigmas, and varying morphs of T_Albino - plenty to keep us excited for many seasons to come.

                                                Peaches:

This female is a Patternless Reverse Stripe Enigma - and a really nice example too! As with Persia, she is het Tremper Albino poss Eclipse (Raptor). Being a veritable `Pandora`s box` of genetics, her offspring are showing a multitude of traits - including Patternless Stripes, Reverse Stripes and Jungles!

                                                 Onyx:

Onyx is our beautiful Mack Snow Tremper Albino Stripe - the only break in his stripe from the top of his neck to the tip of his tail, being a slight blemish inbetween his back legs. Wonderful eye pattern - displaying scarlet red veining, very striking! Being poss het Eclipse he is at the forefront of many exciting projects and the basis of our SnowGlow, Striped Snow and Super Snow Albino Enigma projects. All in all, he`s going to be a very busy boy this year!

                                                Magoo:

This is Magoo, our superb Mack Ghost male. He has managed to retain a remarkable amount of pale - almost white - colouring, and has already this year, been the proud father of some absolutely superb hatchlings, including Mack Jungles, Mack Hypos and even a prime example of a Creamsicle! Excellent temperament, and a joy to own.

                                               Graffix:

This big guy is a Reverse Stripe Tangerine - and no photo could ever do him justice. In the flesh he is a blend of dark/light orange, yellow, brown and has a greenish tinge on many parts of his torso and on his stripes. He is 100% het Tremper Albino and Eclipse, and helped make us our very first home grown Reverse Stripe Albino Eclipse this season - an unexpected surprise! As tame as is humanly possible, laid back, docile - an outstanding gentle giant.

                                                Solero:

Solero is without a doubt one of the best, highest quality Reverse Stripes I have ever had the privilege to see - let alone be the owner of. Her stripe just seems to get thicker and thicker. She is impossibly tame and loves being handled. Her partner will be Onyx, who we purchased with the idea of pairing him to this amazing gecko - so exciting times lay ahead! Just stunning.

                                                           Lucifer:

This is Lucifer, our female Mack Snow Enigma, who also displays wondeful Eclipse eyes - something we are hoping to prove is genetic in the coming seasons. As you can see, she is also sublimely spotty aka `a dalmation`. Another impossibly tame leo, a resident for life here at Funkygeckos.

                                                 Cocoa:

Cocoa is a stunning home grown lady - a High-Yellow and the result of a Wild Caught X SHTCT pairing, so genetically outstanding. Very nice nature and has produced many young in the past. Currently our top breeder in terms of egg numbers, and couldn`t ask for more from a Leopard Gecko: healthy, strong, virile and beautiful!

                                               Rainbow:

Rainbow is our beautiful little Reverse Stripe Tangerine. She`s called Rainbow due to the wonderful array of colours on her body, and she also has a lovely striped tail - which I`m hoping she will pass on when paired with Graffix. She is also 100% het Tremper Albino and Eclipse. This year, she`s producing a nice mix of T_Albinos and Stripes, with the odd Red Eyed Reverse Stripe thrown in for good measure!

                                               Pebbles:

Bold, striking and definitely unusual! Currently penned in as a Bold Designer who we are test breeding with the aim of finding out her exact genetic make up. The yellowing on her is currently the colour of vanilla ice-cream with a touch of lime. Very excited about what she will produce. Whatever she turns out to be, she is beautiful and one of my all-time favourites. Absolutely priceless!

                                                 Ember:

This is a lovely Emerine (green hued Hypo Tangerine), who has far exceeded our expectations of her in many respects. Very bright and vivid in the flesh. She has 2 reddish stripes down her flanks, and radiates with green patches that unfortunately, are hard to pick up on camera. Already produced some wondeful Emerine young of her own this year. One of those unusual leos that go against the grain, and actually get better and brighter with age!

                                               Buttercup:

This young female is an absolute gem - tame, endearing and has an enchanting personality that belies her true calling as a cold blooded reptile! A Mack Snow Tremper Albino, she`ll be paired with Onyx in 2009 in the hope of producing a few stunning Super Snow, and regular, Mack Albinos. Just one of those Leos that will always have a place here regardless of breeding potential or projects. The picture below certainly does no justice to her true beauty.

                                                 Smudge:

Smudge is Cocoa`s clutch mate. A Super Hypo  who assured herself of a place in our breeding projects with her very pale apperence - going quite against the grain of a regular Hypo. Already this year she has justified our faith in her, with a multitude of offspring morphs - ranging from regular Mack Snows and Hypo Macks, to Mack Jungles and Creamsicles. An outstanding female in every respect.

                                                 Custard:

Another one of our own leos. A young High-Yellow, who is the daughter of Cocoa and a since departed pastel normal. Lovey and tame, was almost translucent when she hatched out. Every collection needs a backbone of genetically strong, healthy, reliable females such as Custard!

Please note that none of the above images have been edited or altered in any way whatsoever. All were taken in natural sun light. As any keeper of leopard geckos knows, all leos are far brighter/richer in `real life`, than a picture will allow you to pick up. Although adequate, the above pictures are unable to give an accurate portrayal of the intensity and richness of each individual leo`s colours.
